Interview a Classmate: Anna-Marie
When two people meet each other for the first time the experience can be described in many ways. Sometimes the feeling can be described as nerve wrecking but for others meeting new people is easy. You never really get to know someone for who they really are and what they like to do until you actually have a conversation with the person. After meeting and interviewing my classmate Anna-Marie for the first time I learned so many new things about her that I would never know if I did not speak to her. Before interviewing her, my initial thoughts of her was that she was a little timid and shy. But after the interview I learned otherwise. Not only has she done some daring and gut wrenching things, but she is also a very nice person with very interesting talents and hobbies.
Anna-Marie is eighteen years old and from Columbia, South Carolina and she is the middle child of four siblings. While her fist choice for college was initially Clemson University, she chose Winthrop as her new home to pursue a Mass Communication degree. She loves Winthrop and is glad that she chose to attend that school and chose to major in Mass Communication because she enjoys writing and she loves being involved in multimedia. The type of writing that she mostly does is fiction and she loves to write poetry, songs, and short stories. Anna-Marie shared with me that after college she would love to pursue different careers in radio, television broadcasting and journalism. Obviously she’s a young woman with a bright future.
Even though being as quiet as she was, Anna-Marie was a very interesting person to talk to and to learn about all of the fun things she likes to and plan on doing in the future. Her hobbies are playing video games, playing the violin and piano, reading, writing, listening to music, and also composing music. Her favorite video games to play are Mario and The Legend of Zelda. Even more interesting, she has been playing the violin since the age of twelve and in her junior year of high school she taught herself how to play the piano. Because she knows how to play those instruments she also likes to compose her own music in her spare time. She loves music and even more than that she loves to listen to music. Her favorite artists are Demi Lovato, Shakira, and The king of pop Michael Jackson.
Anna-Marie also shared with me all of the interesting things that she has done in her life so far an all of the things that she hopes to do in the future. Although she is terrified of heights, Anna-Marie has ridden in a helicopter, and if that’s not daring then I’m not sure what is!  But even though she was scared to ride in the helicopter she says that it was something that she has always wanted to over com her fear of heights, and like the courageous person she is she obviously overcame the challenge. In my final words of interviewing Anna-Marie, I asked her what is something interesting that she wants to do in the future, and what is her inspiration or motivation that is going to help her to accomplish all of her goals.  Anna- Marie shares that what she longs to do the most is to go on a world tour to different states and countries. She wishes to visit New York, Japan, Egypt, Paris, China, South Korea, and Germany. Her motivation and inspiration comes from her mother because she is hard working so she strives to be like her and work hard so that she can accomplish all of her goals in the future. After interviewing Anna-Marie I can definitely say that she is interesting and one of a kind with amazing goals. Meeting and interviewing her was an amazing experience.
